The Bordeaux Ambassadors Club was established in 2007 by the Bordeaux Convention Bureau to support the application of Bordeaux in the organization of rotating congress. The first goal is to attract more and more international rotating congresses in Bordeaux. It now has nearly 220 members. These Ambassadors are recognized personalities of differents fields such as academic, scientific, medical and economic and they are active in national and international organizations related to their field.

 

Since the establishment of the Club, the ambassadors have successfully attracted 19 congresses to Bordeaux, representing nearly 9,000 participants and more than 5 million euros of estimated economic impact. The membership of the Club is quite strict and is by invitation only with one condition: that personality must succeed in attracting a congress to Bordeaux. The Ambassadors of Bordeaux receive professional support from Bordeaux Convention Bureau such as:

• Tools and information to prepare the next conference and the latest news from Bordeaux in business tourism

• Access to a network of professionals and conference organizers. The ambassadors are invited to major events in Bordeaux and they have the opportunity to meet other ambassadors

• The assistance at all stages of the congress application process including feasibility studies, quotes meeting, or the organization of inspection visits

 

Ambassadors contribute to the reputation of Bordeaux in the organization of congresses, economic development and influence of its research and activities in France and abroad.

Each year, the Bordeaux Ambassadors Club honors members who have contributed to the organization in Bordeaux major congresses. There are two types of appreciations for members; "Ambassador of the Year" and "Congress of the year." They are honored by the Mayor of Bordeaux in the birthday party of the Club.
