PARIS
The city of Paris, capital of France, is in the first position on the ICCA world ranking. Paris held 214 international rotation congresses in 2014. Created in 1971, on the joint initiative of the City of Paris and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Paris, the Paris Tourist & Convention Office is a non-profit organization that brings together more than 2000 Parisian professionals. The Paris Convention Bureau, offers a tailored service to business and professional associations wishing to organize an event in Paris.
Paris is very efficient in terms of public transportation and provides a discount on transportation tickets for delegates if the organizers request it to the Convention Bureau and the Parisian transport operator RATP.
There is also a free service by the Tourist Board which offers a personalized welcome service for delegates by placing mobile information points with dedicated signage in the arrivals places to accommodate better the delegates of a congress.
The convention bureau works closely with many actors in business tourism. They work not only with the professional providers (catering, receptive agencies etc.) that play a role in the organization of professional events but also with institutional partners like the Chamber of Commerce and Industry or the Regional Tourism Committee. This partnership plays an important role in the implementation of the Welcome Pack Services which offers personalized information points and free shuttles between the places of arrival and convention venues. This service is set up with Viparis company who’s responsible on the management of ten main venues for business events in Paris.
